Picnic in the Park

Keep your picnic in the park fun by following these tips.

·           Avoid using foods like potato salad that use mayo as one of the ingredients.  Instead, try a pasta salad that is made with Italian dressing.

·           Freeze water bottles and place them in the cooler to keep the foods cold.  Not only will you have a cool refreshing drink, but you won’t have to worry about ice melting.

·           Keep sweet items like cakes and cookies in a sealed plastic container or you might have company you hadn’t invited.  Ants!

·           On your way to the park, stow your cooler in the car rather than the trunk, if you can.  There’s air conditioning in the car to keep the cooler from getting warm quickly.

·           Keep your cooler or picnic basket in a shaded area while picnicking, if possible.

·           Be sure to bring along hand wipes to clean up any spills or messy faces.
